The Day of The Event:
Another year and another great experience! The adrenaline flowed, as we worked together to get our mural completed on time. My day started well before 7:30 a.m., when I arrived at Bateman working with other leaders to get everything prepared for the day ahead. The buses came at 10:30 a.m. bringing all the volunteers who would be painting our library mural and other classrooms throughout the school. I visited the school earlier in the week to draw the mural, so when everyone arrived we were ready to PAINT!
We had 4 hours before we had to begin cleaning up, as buses would be arriving at 2:30 to bring everyone to Solder Field for the volunteer celebration. Everyone worked really hard and enthusiastically throughout the day. As we were a little short on time for this undertaking, I returned the following day to complete the mural and put on my final touches -- making it pop! The photos above show our progress throughout the day.
